Ria's DreamWorld

Welcome to this wonderful li'l world of mine! Hi, I am Ria Sanghvi, a li'l baby all excited at arriving in this world! Unlike you all 'smart and fun-loving' kinds, I like to cry, poop, whine, stink, act cute, suck, laugh, crib, act dumb and wet anything and everything. Here's a glimpse into my world, as I know and imagine it.

I just intuitively knew it!

Saturday and Sunday - exactly the same thing.
It's a weekend, which means time for Dad to take me swimming. Unfortunately, I also got a little cold. Not much, just a little. But it was enough for Dad to 'cancel' the swimming plans. At least for me.

Well, he actually never leaves me and go for swimming alone - I'm the reason he usually hits the pool. Yet these two days I think it was a little different.

On Saturday, Dad told me we wouldn't go swimming, saying the pool was closed. I saw him in his swimming shorts, and immediately jumped 'Are we going Swimming Dadda?' He said no, saying all his regular shorts are in laundry, so he's wearing his swimming shorts. I sort-of believed him. Then, I saw him walking back in the house with a towel and asked again 'Daddy, did you go swimming?' He said no I just went to check if the pool was open, but it was closed. Guess what, after 10min he was in his pajamas and playing with me, and while making him a horse to ride on, I touched his head and immediately shouted 'Daddy daddy - your hair is wet. you went swimming... tell me tell me, you went swimming na'. Dad had a really sheepish look :-)

Something similar happened on Sunday. My afternoon nap started late, and it was already dark when I was woken by my Dad. As he tried to make me wake up laughing by telling some funny stories, I again touched his head, and this time told him in a very matter-of-fact way - 'Dad you left me and went swimming dadda'. He said, no Ria I'd never leave you and go for swimming alone. But I said again - 'no daddy, you went swimming alone today, you left me and went.'

Who's the kid, who's the adult

Strange conversations today:

Dad starts the TV after we came back from swimming.
Me: Daddy, you can watch your channel today, ok?
Dad (smiling happily): Thank you Ria

Dad flips through channel, munching his food. He stops at a channel for a second. I'm right besides him. Then, suddenly he changes channel again saying 'This is a ghost movie'.

Me: Dad, I like ghost movies, can you please put that channel again?
Dad (continuing to flip channels): No Ria, you'll get scared and have nightmares.
Me: No Daddy, I won't get scared. The ghost is in the TV right? It can't come out!
Dad (finally stopping at 508, and giving a big smile): Ria, let's watch your channel. See it's Ice Age!
Me (with a not-overly-excited smile): Dad this is cartoon!
Dad (trying to get me excited): Yesss, this is a cartoon movie.. it's my favorite... let's watch.
Me: Nooo Dad, I want to watch the ghost movie.
Dad: No Ria, let's watch cartoon. You don't want to watch cartoon? This is such a good movie
Me: No Daddy, pleaase, I want to watch the ghost movie. I'll not get scared na~~

(~Another 5min of intense negotiations)

Dad (finally giving up): Ok, here you go. (finally changes channel to FX to watch 'Ghost Ship')

Me happy :-)
