Ria's DreamWorld

Welcome to this wonderful li'l world of mine! Hi, I am Ria Sanghvi, a li'l baby all excited at arriving in this world! Unlike you all 'smart and fun-loving' kinds, I like to cry, poop, whine, stink, act cute, suck, laugh, crib, act dumb and wet anything and everything. Here's a glimpse into my world, as I know and imagine it.

So Many CNTs !

My CNTs (Cool New Things) that happened this week:

  • Did my first forward roll without any help - I think it happened accidentally or something, I couldn’t do it again when Mom saw me and asked me to do it again
  • I learnt how to do a ‘Turnaround’
  • Viraj and I run on the boardwalk chasing the ‘birdies’
  • I saw the fireworks in the Hudson River and enjoyed the ‘lights’ in the ‘sky’ thoroughly
  • My mom left me in the bathroom for 30 seconds to get something, during which I somehow managed to climb into the tub where water was running, and started playing, soaking my diaper and dress completely!
  • I went and fetched Papa’s blackberry when he couldn’t find it (really!)
  • Mom’s phone was on silent, and I was playing with it when Papa’s call came – I saw his picture light up on phone-screen, so I went and gave the phone to Mom.

Back to New York!

I'm back home - the one in NY. And suddenly I'm doing a whole bunch of new things that's making Mom repeat every few hours - 'Where did you learn that from!'

It started right from the time in the flight, where I started walking up the aisle every few minutes, and my Dad had to catch and bring me back. On the way home I suddenly became very shy when the cab driver Louis tried making friends with me. But the second he'll look ahead, I'd start dancing to the music.

Monday when we went for a stroll at the boardwalk, for the first time I walked for 30 meters continuously holding my Mom & Dad's fingers. Every time a plane/helicopter would pass overhead, I'd look up and shout 'Plane'. By the next day I started identifying the 'boats' on the river.

Tuesday I again surprised my Mom by climbing into the bathtub myself and started playing with water in the bucket - 'chhapak chhapak' is my favorite sport. Then later Mom showed my Dad's photo and asked - 'Yeh kaun hai' and instead of answering, I repeated word to word 'Yeh kaun hai'! That was just one of the upteen phrases I've started repeating. Later during the evening walk I learnt to identify grass, leaves, tree and flowers.

And today was the best - I wanted Dad to take me out, so I first went to pointed towards the door; then picked my shoes and socks and tried wearing my socks. That didn't work, so I went and picked up Dad's socks from his shoes, and took it to him. Now what else can a li'l girl do to make my intentions known in this world-of-the-big ???

So yes, I'm growing quickly, and in the happening place like NY, life could be anything but monotonous! Hang on to your seat-belts!
